• The heart shape must be centered with respect to the lobes. If  it is not, your heart shape will look very distorted.
• The lobes on each side of the diamond must be balanced. Otherwise, it will not have a nice, symmetrical shape.
• The color of the diamond must be acceptable. Watch for the corner of the cut as that is the place where low quality color can be detected
• Look for sharps points rather than rounded points. The latter indicated a poor cut.

Besides the diamond itself, another factor that will influence the price is the type of rings that you are going to set the diamonds in. There is typically the following types of settings: yellow gold, white gold, silver and titanium metals as well as platinum. Platinum is the most expensive of all the metals although they tend to have a more lasting shine.
